Payment, delivery and assembly
Edurus estimates the delivery time for customized and specially designed tombstones at 12-16 weeks from the start of production. For faster delivery, choose a catalog tombstone; only 4-6 weeks from production to installation..
Invoice 20 days
Once Edurus has received the approval of both the grave owner and the cemetery administration, the production of the tombstone will begin. In connection with the start of production, we will send out your invoice by e-mail with a 20-day payment period. If the value of the order exceeds SEK 45,000, prepayment of half the amount is applied before production starts.
The invoice must be made out to a private person who is responsible for payment, but can be marked with the name of the estate. We will store the tombstone in our warehouse until we have received full payment.
Payment via Svea Bank AB
If you inform us during the ordering process that you wish to make a partial or direct payment, we offer this via Svea Bank. Once Edurus has received the approval of the client, the burial rights holder and the cemetery administration, we create a case with Svea Bank.
When the order is approved, you will receive an email from Svea containing a link to activate the case, the link is valid for 48 hours. Once you have accepted Svea’s general terms and conditions and the case has been activated, Svea will perform a credit check and offer you various payment options. The payment methods available are card payment, invoice payment, installment payment, direct payment via internet bank and Swish. The credit assessment determines which of these payment methods Svea can offer in your particular case.
Production starts when the payment method is selected, an order confirmation with preliminary assembly method is sent out by e-mail.
More information and general terms and conditions can be found here.
Before installation
We are grateful to receive as much information as possible about the grave site at an early stage to facilitate planning and carry out our assignment in the best possible way. If it is a family grave with space for several gravestones or with an existing gravestone, please inform us of the desired location and the name of the existing stone. Please note that we must always comply with the cemetery’s regulations for the placement of gravestones.
Delivery time
The delivery time, from start of production to installed stone, differs depending on how you have chosen to design the tombstone. You will receive a preliminary installation plan in connection with your order confirmation. Installation is always adapted to the prevailing ground conditions.
In the event of snow/thaw or while waiting for the ground to stabilize after an earth burial, the stone is stored in our warehouse. Expect it to take approx. 6-12 months after coffin burial until the installation of the tombstone can be carried out safely without the tombstone starting to tilt or move.

Mounting methods
There are different methods of installing a tombstone, and the method used depends on the size of the tombstone, specific soil conditions in the cemetery or whether the site is already prepared with a cast beam, for example. What unites the different approaches is that they stay within the regulations set by the Central Graves Commission as safe mounting methods.
The most common method is to install the tombstone using a GRO base, a lightweight concrete foundation and stainless steel studs that are adapted to the size of the tombstone. It is also possible to install the tombstone with ground dowels, granite foundations or to install one third of the height of the tombstone underground. The mounting method will be indicated on your order confirmation.
Installation notice
Edurus will notify you when the tombstone is in place at the cemetery, and an installation confirmation with a photo of the tombstone will be sent out by e-mail. It is not possible to book a time for the installation, the installation routes are set based on the number of tombstones to be installed in the same area.
Things to consider when installing the tombstone
Please note that a newly installed tombstone is sensitive to shocks and movements. The soil must settle around the foundation and any adhesive used downwards against the anchoring must have time to harden before the installation is completely stable. If you jolt or shake the tombstone immediately after it has been installed, you will damage the installation and risk having a tombstone that is no longer secure. It is part of the cemetery administration’s task to test the stability of the installation, this is done at the earliest 2-6 months after an installation.
If you are still unsure that the tombstone has been installed correctly, it is best to contact the cemetery staff in the first instance. In the unlikely event that something is not right, we will rectify the problem. Click here for more information on warranty.
